I know we are all really upset right now, but look at this region. I don't know if they were trying to gift Duke a Final Four or it just played out that way, but the other side of the bracket is WEAK.

SDSU is a winnable game for us and probably the best match up we could have asked for with any team ranked 7-10.

Duke would take a miracle, I concede. After Duke, though, Utah/Gtown (or a 12 or 13 seed) to advance to the Elite Eight? An Elite Eight match with #2 seed Gonzaga--who we played to the last possession.

There is reason for a little hope here.

I don't know if I'd call this bracket weak. It doesn't have the No. 1 over all. Gonzaga is not a team to sleep on. They only lost a squeaker at an extremely good Zona team and they put up a stinker verses BYU which they later avenged.

Also, don't sleep on Iowa State making a run. You know until they get stopped by us!

I've got Iowa State coming out of the bottom, but, man, 95% of this board would have hand-picked Duke and Gonzaga as #1 and #2 seeds they would like to play.

It's POSSIBLE our path to the Final Four--the crowning achievement of the program 30 years ago--after SDSU could be Duke, Gtown, and Gonzaga--a team we were beating with a few minutes left, a team we beat, and a team we took to the last possession.

This team will really prove something to me if it can win the first game (not that they give a crap about that.) Having said that, I don't have much hope, particularly in light of their recent play.

I was one of three students on the judicial affairs council (with faculty and admin reps as well) at SJU and had a basketball player's case while there. I don't know if this went that direction or was a team/athletic department decision, but if it went to judicial affairs, there was an appeal process and many of the original punishments were weakened.

Also, when did the two week suspension start? If it started Thursday, he could be eligible before the Sweet 16 game (if the basketball gods give us a miracle against Duke).

Getting past round 1 will be a major accomplishment. Going deep in this tournament will be like Tom Hanks getting Private Ryan out of France in one piece.

Seldom agree with you, but actually saw merit in your game plan on other thread. Perhaps Panther can give it to staff.

Agree on all points. When I saw the draw, I was happy but also even more pissed at the same time. Happy because I think we can beat SDSU, angry because with Obekpa I really think we could beat Duke and do something special.
