SNY

I was just watching some Daily News reporters talking on SNY about what is wrong with college basketball. They make the assertion that the regular season is meaningless, there are no more rivalries and even the post season is watered down because the teams all play each other all year. Then one guy goes on to state that until two weeks ago, he had never heard of Otto Porter. Somehow, that is the fault of college basketball. Not the fact that he is getting paid to be a sports reporter/columnist but doesn't know anything about a major sport. It was obvious that none of them followed college basketball too closely. They should have stuck to discussing Mets pre-season baseball and Islanders hockey.

Two of my favorite sports are college football and college basketball and NY is a basebore town. Don't lookfor the local scribes or talking heads to know jack about college sports.

I saw that clip also on SNY. I thought it was a complete joke. These guys clearly spend too much time covering pro sports. I thought the funniest line was when they said that the college football regular season means more than the college basketball regular season. Really, lose one or two games in the regular season in college football & your chances of winning a national championship are zero. You lose those games early on, your regular season is usually meaningless, unless you want to play in the Go Daddy.com Bowl LOL.
