Gonzaga up by 8 points over the mighty, invincible Duke Blue Devils at the half! I do not know the final outcome but surely Gonzaga has become a premier program.

It is possible perhaps inevitable ( I hope) that another small Catholic non-Football school can reach similar heights - especially since that school was already at those heights for decades...who???
Why St. Johns of course.
Villanova, Xavier, G’ town, Providence,
St. Mary’s...others, Gonzaga...
Which is exactly where we belong!!!

We can't reach similar heights because we don't have any. ;) :)

It would have been nice if Gonzaga was a bit closer, then they could join the the Big East. But I kind of like the idea of keeping the Big East exactly the way it is, and avoiding the greedy aquisitions of the past.

We don't have any of the advantages that Gonzaga has in college basketball.
We are not located in a small nondescript location.
We don't have the recruiting skill to find foreign talent unless it is a foreign kid transferring.
We don't play our biggest games in 6,000 seat McCarthy Arena but in Madison Square Garden.
We will never have a coach like Mark Few. We only hire celebrity apprentices who are bound to get fired.
We are St. John's - the largest Catholic university in America with the smallest basketball mentality. We pay no-show assistant coaches $3 million and apprentice coaches $12 million over 6 years and in their 5th year we fire them.

One of the nicest things about the Big East is not hearing of any of its schools looking elsewhere.

Definitely.

And for the record, I like any size Catholic non-Football schools that are undefeated. :)

Who was complaining? I was just stating facts.;) ;)

Let's play Zags in second round this year and knock them off. That would be sweet!
