SJU vs. PITT

Tuesday 2pm. Tough opening game for the Redmen for this year's Big East tournament. Down year for Pitt but they beat the Redmen by 20 last week and looked more like last year's team. Would not be surprised if Pitt seniors Ashton Gibbs and Nasir Robinson step up and they go on a little run. J.J. Moore of Brentwood has also been playing very well for them recently off the bench. Should be a close game.

every game is tough. Harkless got hurt last game and they were at home so I'm not putting much stock into that. Stay out of foul trouble and stick to Gibbs and we'll be playing GTown on Wednesday.

Dont get me wrong, Pitt is a tough team but if they're not super hot again and a couple of breaks go our way (no injuries, staying out of foul trouble) don't be too surprised to see a SJU win. I know people were saying to fear a Pitt run back during their losing streak but I just can't see it. I think this game is a complete 180 from the last matchup.

And the game is in NY-

Pitt basketball will lose alot when they leave Big East. They were an average program when they joined the BE. . .the NY pipeline will dry up and they may follow same route as BC

The Big East schools should all refuse to schedule PittS and Syracuse University after they move to the ACC.

I agree. Pitt will be forgotten instantly by the conference. I wonder with Cuse, though, if it would be better for us to reap the benefit of playing them in their only Garden game. I can't imagine MSG giving them more than one game a year to the tune of 9-10 thousand fans when we aren't supplying 7,000+. I doubt Syracuse would give up a home conference game to rent out a half-empty Garden anyway.

Let's give Pitt the send off they deserve. Can't wait to see our guys respond.

Pitt is playing in the Big East next year. The team is much better than their record.
Sorry I don't have good feelings about this game but I will be there rooting.
As far as when they go to the ACC I see them doing very well in football,
and that's what counts.

Pitt has been a mystery this year. Dixon is a great coach but something was not clicking for them this year.
Dangerous team in the tournament. Remember they have already beaten SJU and Georgetown.
Tough for the Johnnies to go on a five day five game run with only six players.

.
HOW about a box and one on Gibbs to see if that helps keeping him from scoring if not go back to our usual or mix the D up

Let's not let Taylor look like Shaq again.

Exactly, we made him look like the McDonald All Star. If we allow Robinson and Taylor easy putbacks it's going to be a long day. Got to know where Gibbs is; can't have him taking wide open three pointers. Even Uconn kept him under raps most of the game; make him rush his jumpers. Pay alot of attention to Moore, he has been very impressive. Pitt has a good one for the future.
Alot will depend on Harkless' ankle. If he's hurting then we will have a hard time scoring, need a big game from him.
