QUEENS, N.Y. (Sept. 18, 2019) – The 2020 St. John’s Athletics Hall of Fame Weekend will be held on Jan. 18-19, with the induction ceremony taking place on Sat., Jan. 18, inside Carnesecca Arena.
St. John’s alumni, supporters and fans will be able to celebrate the 21st induction class in the Hall’s history throughout an action-packed weekend. Festivities will commence in Midtown at “The World’s Most Famous Arena” on Saturday afternoon when the St. John’s men’s basketball team plays host to long-time BIG EAST rival Seton Hall. The newest Red Storm Hall of Famers will partake in a pregame ceremony prior to an in-game recognition at Madison Square Garden.
Later that evening, St. John’s will formally honor the Class of 2020 on the University’s Queens campus with the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at Carnesecca Arena, which will soon feature a transformed space dedicated to those individuals enshrined in the Hall. Then on Sun., Jan. 19, the hall of famers will be introduced to St. John’s faithful at the women’s basketball team’s home contest with Creighton.
Established in 1984-85, the St. John’s Athletics Hall of Fame consists of 132 members representing the majority of the Red Storm’s current sports teams as well as discontinued programs. In addition to former student-athletes and coaches, numerous administrators and honorary members have been inducted into the Hall for their valued contributions and accomplishments during their time associated with St. John’s Athletics.
