After the big signing of Jakarr, I'm ready to look ahead to next season's first game. This would seem to be, based on what we know and what has been tweeted, the starting lineup and backups:

STARTER: BACKUP
PG: Branch- Greene
SG: Harrison- Mystery Shooter
SF: Pointer- Garrett
PF: Sampson- ?
C: ?? - Gift

When Lavin and KOB have wished Harkless well, the likely scenario is life after Harkless.

To forecast a big season, ?? really needs to be Obekpa.
Can Carlos Morris fill the role of mystery shooter?
Based on Coach's stated goal of being 2 deep at every position, he has to be looking for a backup PF. Is Orlando Sanchez our best option? Hopefully, we can fill in the blanks as each new recruit signs.

Your 2 question marks will be filled in the not too distant future

How about the mystery shooter? Are you confident that ? and ?? are Sanchez and Obepka?

Ok maybe 3 question marks. lol

After reading that tweet from Obepka the other day that someone posted I'm not confident in him coming here.

I think there are 3 schollies coming and they will address mystery shooter, power forward who can also play the 3 and maybe some 5 and a flat out center.

Is the flat out center a high quality recruit?

If Harkless doesn't come back . . .

PG: Branch | Greene
SG: Harrison | Greene | Balamou
SF: Pointer/Garrett | Morris
PF: Sampson | Garrett/Pointer
C: TBA | Achiuwa | TBA

If he does come back:
PG: Branch | Greene
SG: Harrison| Morris | Balamou
SF: Harkless | Pointer
PF: Sampson | Garrett
C: TBA | Achiuwa | TBA

yes he would definitely fall into that category

That is excellent news. If it comes to fruition , Even if Moe leaves , We can sleep well at night, knowing we have all positions covered and next year should be very enjoyable and we will be dancing in march.

Should really have started with the depth chart based on the moment, which allows for changes as they occur. Today's depth chart should be:

PG: Branch | Greene
SG: Harrison | Greene | Balamou
SF: Pointer/ Garrett |
PF: Sampson
C: Achiuwa

The next step is some kind of forecast for next season's record, with updates as the depth chart changes. The changes as of today are Branch for Greene and Sampson for Harkless. Is this enough to move us to 500? It will take some work for Harkless to Sampson to be an even up exchange, based solely on how high Moe set the bar. As of today, still undersized, and still lacking a second scoring threat, especially from deep. With this chart, we can not only update the chart, but update the projected win % as well as each new recruit signs. Since I expect coach to be true to his word, which was a stellar class for 2012, this chart should undergo at least 2 major revisions.

I think Gift will have a big year next year. He had some big games in November and December and those 18 points and 8 Rebs against the huge Kentucky team were no fluke. Neither Pointer nor Garrett made up his points and inside presence IMO.
