Sir Dom's Highlight Reel

I thought everyone would appreciate this from last night's game. Dom gets his fair share of criticism (I've been guilty myself) but he went all out last night.

Nobody gets on Dom more than Marillac. Great game out of him last night. He's is the absolute key to the season for better or worse.

The good:
- All the blocks off help defense (we need another shot blocker to come from behind to mitigate the lack of size)
-Few mental mistakes
-Solid rebounding
-Good D
-Very good slashes from the perimeter
-Crashed the offensive glass very well
-Posted up down low (great to see him and Jordan doing that) and didn't live on perimeter

Concerns
-Would still like to see him embrace the PF/banger role more, but there is time
-Worried that these 18 points and drives from the perimeter might fill his head of being better on offense that he is or needs to be
-I'm not sure some of those drives would have been effective against better teams

Congrats to Dom on a great game. With noone shooting well at all, he took over the game with defense and flat out effort and carried the team last night. Great job Dom!

Watched the game and appreciated Dom but found myself asking what if the other team had JB2; i.e. if we face a competent D1 team with a forward as good as Justin Brownlee, is Dom big enough to defend him and his back to the basket and spin move game? is Chris O in deep trouble because he picks ups fouls helping out Dom against a team that can move the ball? where is the help on the bench if Amar is not worked in and ADR can't give Chris O some respite? Came away very pessimistic about how we fare against real D1 majors.

I'd trade Dom for JB2 in a heart beat and I think most everyone would. With that written, the 2010-2011 team didn't have Harrison (much better defender and rebounder than Hardy), a 6'9/6'10 force like Obekpa, and they certainly didn't have a player nearly as explosive as Jordan.

I actually think Dom would have matched up fairly well with a guy like Brownlee.
