I think it is time to revisit the topic of ranking our head coaches since the arena retired.
1. Jarvis
amazing that the clear cut number one not only did so much damage to the program but is also hated by the majority of the fan base.
2. Lavin
clear cut number 2 also disliked by half the fan base. Making 2 tournaments post Louie  however is almost statue in front of arena worthy.
3. Fran
His own fault but was probably our best shot at sustained adequacy.
4. Mahoney
BEB coach of year and actually won a tournament game. Had probably ST John’s best recruiting class ever. After his first season his teams were a mess but if he somehow could have recruited a competent point guard to play with Lopez and Hamilton might still be here.
5. Mullin
pains me to put him after Mahoney but where he belongs. Simply came here to be some kind of glorified mascot. Did not work hard enough or at least dedicate himself. Still based on tournament appearances the current guy may never catch him.
6.Anderson
Arguably had 2 of the top 12 or 15 players in the BE. Wheeler is a solid BE player who actually got a DNP-CD early on. Anderson did not recruit to his style of player and even at end of season did seem to fully understand his own roster. Last year was one of the worst coaching jobs in program history which is amazing considering Norm Roberts was a coach here. Besides all of the above this team was boring. If Posh leaves Norm May have competition.
7. Norm
The GOAT of bad college basketball coaches. The fact that he was allowed to be that bad for that long I believe set expectations so low that we are where we our now because of him. Personally I have given the 6 guys ahead of him a pass because they simply weren’t as bad as Norm.

Sorry, can NOT put Jarvis up top.  The bad and the aftermath FAR outweighed a few good moments.  He's lucky we had a few real clunkers or would have found himself at the very bottom.

Nah Elite 8 team was awesome to watch and made 3 tournaments
My list is the official one and final anyway
Feel free to debate but list stands

Jarvis good defensive coach.  Elite 8 offense developed by Ernie Lorch at Riverside carried over to STJ.
