Another poster on one of the recent threads discussing Coach Lavin's recent troubles in retaining players (and coaching or lack there of) mentioned that a person with the last Simon is the favorite candidate to become the next President of St. John's and I am assuming the first lay President of the school?

Who is Simon? What is he or she famous for? Where does he or she come from? What is this persons pedigree? If a favorite when will the announcement be made? And Finally is this person a Catholic?

Please enlighten the fan base.

He referred to Michael Simons who is the Dean of the St.John's School of Law. He has served as St. John's Dean since 2009.

I met Dean Simons once and I found him to be a bright personable individual who IMO would be a major improvement over Harrington. I understand that Mike is a semi regular at St. John's men's basketball games.
