Justin Simon & Marvin Clark have #SJUBB ranked No. 3 in D1 for projected impact of sat-out-a-year transfers ARTICLE

Most optimistic thing I've seen in a long time. Didn't realize Simon was a 5 star whatever that means. I continue to believe and hope that we find a graduate transfer big guy who can defend and rebound immediately. That would help us enormously while taking pressure off Clark not to try to do it alone.

Our backcourt is going to be good, real good and deep. Its finding a decent big for next season that I hope will make us tournament worthy. Other transfers and players are for building a future.

Two thoughts:

1. I can see why Malik Ellison decided to transfer. His playing time would dry up if he stayed.
2. Nevada has 4/5 of a starting lineup in this transfer class. They will be very formidable in their league next season. Great recruiting job on their part.

If the transfers are solid we have a lot of talent under 6'6. As everyone is saying we just need some size.

People are worrying for no reason about Clark. Will be shocked if he is not our starting 4. I expect him to be a very solid player and lead team in rebounds. Had Big 10 network and saw him play a bunch of times. He was a rotation guy on a Final Four team.
Again I predict 10-12 points and 6 to 7 boards for him.

The key to next season will be Ahmed and or Simon. One of them has to step up to be our clear cut third best player if we are going to make the tournament. Ahmed was ok last year but needs to shoot a better%, make better decisions and be more consistent and less selfish.
I have honestly not seen enough of Simon to have a clear idea of what he will bring. He is the true wildcard for me.

I don't think people are "worrying" about Clark as much as they think he needs some help on the glass. We are not very big at the 5 and are thin at 4 depth wise. Unless everyone still believes in Yakwe?

These two are going to have a huge impact. We are getting a 4 and 5 star kid, both from blue-blood programs. We already have some of the best guards around. Big additions... Now we need to bolster our frontcourt seriously.

Clarks has had leg surgery at least twice since his senior year in high school. reason to worry

Not at all. He had a mild stress fracture in left foot when at MSU. Broke different bone in Rt foot when in HS. It's not like a same joint re-injured, bad knees or shoulders etc. Two different unrelated injuries.

Well now there was this center from KY taken in the draft before MJ. Then before that Bill Walton 8,,10 year ago Portland drafted a center out of Ohio State and we had Curt Johnson. Granted these are center. But we will see

There were also thousands of other players who've injured their feet and come back with no problem.

I just happy to have 2 more bodies that can suit up and the eternal hope that comes with a new season!

Yea add two. Subtract three (for now) Welcome to the life of an SJU fan

Yes but the reason they are transferring now is their playing time is being diminished not because they want a better chance to win!

RSCI #30 recruit in the class of 2015. Far more heralded than Lovett or Ponds. Question is can he play to his ranking.

A member of the staff told me Simon is a stud, He said he's a definite NBA Player

Uhg, here we go already. Whenever we get stud the countdown to NBA begins. I appreciate the intel, just hope we can enjoy the player for more than a year.

Never got a chance to show it at Arizona. I guess we will find out... As far as NBA stuff goes, if he's that good, with Ponds, Lovett, Ahmed and crew, we will be in a good situation.

Not just two more bodies -- two more seriously talented bodies.
