Sima

This guy may have potential, but he really shouldn't be getting the ball in the low post at all. His offensive game is almost comical, if not for foul shots, I wouldn't know if he were righty or lefty, he flings(I do mean flings) the ball towards the hoop so ineptly, it's hard to figure out. He should only be dunking(maybe, see the other night) or putting back rebounds. He'll need an offseason to improve otherwise.

I disagree. He's a bit raw at times, but light years ahead of a guy like Obekpa was on offense. I think he should continue doing what he's doing, he's actually been serviceable on offense and has tons of ability moving forward. People thought Roy Hibbert was a goon his first season, but he developed into a good NBA player. Give then kid time, and I actually think we should go to him on the blocks more.

Hibbert is a good analogy. I remember playing them at MSG his freshman year, and he couldn't get up and down the court.

The 7-footer from Creighton the other day is a good template for what Sima can eventually be, IMO.

He gets pushed around a lot . Needs to bulk up. In 3 years could be a beast. With the hard work and working with the staff.

Kid plays hard every game. Any mistakes are freshman mistakes. For me he is the lone keeper in the group. Will not and cannot win with Mussini and Ellison playing major minutes. That includes next year. Gave all my tickets away since I am a bad loser. As I told a few that correspond with me players like Mouvlika, Mussini and Ellison are just not physically gifted enough for this level. Those that are like Johnson and Jones are too inconsistent thus their minutes reflect the staff's seeing that and utilizing Balamou and Alibegovic. No horses this year.

I do like Sima's potential. I hope that more aggressiveness comes with time and hopefully some added bulk to his frame.

I agree that Mussini and Ellison will be solid role players in future years, but it appears that Mullin has a liking for both of them so I hope they get used appropriately.

What concerns me most is Yakwe. No doubt athletically gifted, great leaping, blocking etc. but I really don't see anything promising in his ability to actually shoot. Something just doesn't look right with his mechanics... it's like he's pushing the ball only. Even more painful when watching him at the line. Even when they go in, it's almost an eternity for the ball to get near the rim and usually a few bounces before it goes in or out. I think more practice alone and with Mullin will help but I just don't see him becoming a consistent offensive tool that compliments his defense.

Had to laugh yesterday when the announcer said Sima;"lost the ball on the way up, but it went in". No, that's how he shoots.

So far tonight he hit the top of the backboard on a ten foot shot and threw up an air ball from 15 ft, that missed by at least three ft.

The whole squad shot 28%....... He shouldn't be shooting 15 footers agree. But his defense and rebounds are needed. Plays hard also. Will develop a post game. Also he's only played 15 college games.
