Sheed Jordan

May be wrong...but seemed to allude to difference of Lavin vs. Mullin, that Lavin may have been OK with some type of support (financial?) to his mother, and Mullin was not.

Sounded like Chris mullin and his staff was not willing to compromise sheed going back and forth to Philly compared to lavin. To honest be would have been better off at ucla away from Philly

I have no idea what impact , if any , Lavin giving Jordan permission to go to and from home so frequently .
I do seem to recall that there were family issues that contributed to his absences .
Nevertheless , Jordan’s career here , before his Legal problems surfaced , was uneven and he never seemed able to devote himself to improving his potential and game with these other distractions .
It’s too bad because he did have NBA skills .
Jordan did have also , what could be deemed to be bad connections in his neighborhood and that wasn’t to his advantage Basketball wise .
Lavin , I think , did the best he could to try and help Rasheed .
I don’t think Mullin could be criticized as he was coming in as a new Coach and had more to deal with than Jordan in year 1 . The Cup left to him by Steve was pretty empty .

...The Cup left to him by Steve was pretty empty ....
The roster Mullin and co. had to fill... without the Transfer portal of today... that was rough.... A team with Ron Mouvika as a headliner... that's tough...

I did however think Yakwe was gonna be something incredible by jr or sr year... 7/5 as a true frosh in the BE (out of necessity- i get it...) to really basically nothing... and he went to UConn! of all places... to really give us the finger lol

Watching the part about STJ, it's hard to really blame Mullin for not doing what he can to take him back (although I think academics had a lot to do with it anyway). Never fully understood the nostalgia about him from other fans, and think his NBA potential was always way overstated. Obviously wish him the best of luck

Jordan in his SJ stay was out of compliance most of time, be it academic or other team rules.

I wish Rysheed all the best as his journey continues. I recently heard from Father Rock that he is interested in returning to school to get his degree. None of us know all the obstacles that Rysheed has dealt with in his life so far. It would be very kind if we could all say a Prayer and wish him success in his future endeavors.
