Shamorie Ponds

Was surprised to see this posted by Shams...saw Shamorie had a workout with them the other day. But wow - congrats to him - this is a really big deal. Happy for him.

He's been through a lot and people - myself included have been very hard on him and his (silly and hasty in my opinion) decision to leave school.

Hopefully this is the start of a strong career for him - be it G League, NBA or overseas.

Congrats - another Johnnie playing basketball on a big stage.
 
I really liked and enjoyed Ponds as a Player . He gave us 3 very good , nearly great Basketball .  He was basically our go to guy for all that time .    There was a lot of pressure on him since the supporting cast was only so/ so .  There wasn’t a lot of offensive support on that team .   So , he got doubled often but , still put up numbers .    He also took a lot of heat from fans that wasn’t all that deserved .   He had a very nice Career .  A 4 th year with CMA ?  Who knows ?   I think Shamorie would have been a good NBA player if he was 6 ‘ 3 and not 6’0 .   His size isn’t the NBA prototype , which has hampered him in the NBA tryouts . I wish him the best and hope he earns a decent $$$$ .
