Seton Hall Recruiting

Plus forward Kevin Johnson, who had been temporarily suspended, reportedly pulled off his uniform top and stormed off the court after the loss to Rutgers. Word is he's a goner. Also, many feel that soph guard Aaron Cosby, the Hall's second-best player, will be transfering as well. And the buzz is that the Willard & Co. are in terrrible shape with the 2014 class. And you think we have problems?

You get what you pay for. Difference is we pay a lot more for our coach/staff.

And because of that we should be( in most years) at the top of the new Big East - I'm looking forward to it
FInally I think we can beat Villanova st MSG and I hope so!

all the best

Aaron Crosby left the team mid-season to return home (later he returned to NJ). That is never a good sign. They also lost Freddie Wilson mid-season. As much as I like having 2 games against a down team I'd rather have a strong SHU, Gtown, Providence, and Nova to have a great basis of a basketball only conference. My only other qualification would be that St John's gets than remains stronger than those 4.

Moose, did Steve hold the school up for more then market based on what he brings? I thought he might have asked for more on Mike's behalf, but was for the most part reasonable.

Forgot about Wilson. The Hall was hoping Carr (if he was OK academically; a big if) would be a big boost to their team, both individually -- they're in desparate need of a PG; frosh Tom Maayan averaged less than a point a game in BE competition, and not much more overall -- and as a lure for 2014 recruits.

I don't know, but his # is not unreasonable IMO. Just a lot more than Willard or Rice but it is what it is with them.

I read the other day that Carr is going to play pro ball overseas next year in lieu of attending Seton Hall

Seton Hall has to hire the best coach they can who can recruit. We were in the same situation until we hired Lavin. Maybe with the better TV contract coming from Fox they'll hire a coach who can recruit.
It's a shame seeing them down after seeing them in the late 80's with PJ. I remember in 1989 when they had Gaze and Ramos and I remember seeing SJ play them in Alumni hall. Seton Hall won that game and went to the NCAA final that year. I also saw SJ demolish UCONN at Alumni scoring 100 points to beat them.
