In life one goes through phases, changes. My 98 year old Mom passed away (to where don’t ask lol hopefully ‘ heaven’). Seriously we had a fine relationship, my son moved to NJ/NYC employment, my Carolina daughter has wanted me closer and in a less expensive area - hence my Sag Harbor home is on the market and Charleston SC on the horizon!

I had posted something about you and it appeared you had not signed on since November. I had a coworker who liked to say "I thunk you up" in similar scenarios. Glad you are back, and Charleston is a lovely place. Sag prices sky high so good time to sell.

Incredibly sorry to hear about your Mom, but what a life she must have led. We should all be so lucky to make it to 98!

Glad to see that you are doing well, and Charleston is a beautiful place to live, with a great food scene. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

After happily hearing from our General, and piggybacking Room112’s post a few months back, I came away thinking that members may be inclined to send us a message that all is well.

Understand fully that life can get in the way. But if a lengthy period has passed, just a simple “hello” will suffice.

This place has become more than just a regular fan website. Paul (God bless his soul) built a home for all of us to be warmly welcomed as part of an extended family.

Welcome to SCarolina, it’s a great retirement get away from NY

And , a alternative to Florida but , both offer a good and different quality of life than NY.

I’m in Bluffton in the Hilton Head area .

Down here 14 years now .


Funny story .
When we moved here in 2011 , my wife was reading the local paper which published all the local Crime stories .

One story said “ Port Royal Subway rubbed at gun point .”

She asked me “ I didn’t realize that South Carolina had Subways .”


I replied as softly as I could and said” SCarolina doesn’t have Subway trains like NY, they are reporting on a robbery at the Subway Sandwich shop .”

She then said , “ then they should have said that and not just say Subway.”

Charleston is great . I go to MUSC up there for my medical checkups . Best Hospital and Doctors in the State.

Johnnies have played in Charleston a few times in the last decade . Early season tournament .

Charleston has great restaurants , which you may already know

Try Hall’s Chop House and Church and Union , near City Market .

Let’s hope 2026 results in a continued success for our Johnnies .

SS&G sorry to hear about your loss but 98 years calls for a celebration of her life. I am sure she was an awesome lady and you will keep her in your heart. I lived in Bluffton for 11 years and I just moved to Charleston area in Summerville, 55+ community my acknowledgement to old age. Charleston is great and has great restaurants fishing and golf. Get you fill of bagels, pizza and Chinese food before you come down as you will miss ny there. Great BBQ and fried chicken though. Im sure we can start something when the season starts with slyfoxx and others who want get together and enjoy a beer and a burger like the north Carolina boys due.
