Odd turn of events, having to sit out another year, but wish him well. He's entitled to find the right situation for himself.

A fan on instagram said something about him not being a good player and Keita replied, "yeah it's my fault SJ has sucked the last 30 years".

Oh boy.

Obviously not his fault the last 30 years, but he did his little part last year. Wish him luck at FIU, but don't want anyone here who doesn't want to be here and buy into the team concept and rules.

And who says the players don’t know the history...

I sense there is an immaturity with Keita. It's unfortunate because I think this type of kid will look back with regret later.

In this case, Keita's entire college basketball career (due to transfers and injury) will essentially encompass just 2 1/2 seasons.

His 1.5 ppg & 2.1 rpg are just what they need to make them an elite program.

I will cut the kid some slack. His comments reek of immaturity but he is still a kid. He has to be completely frustrated. He transferred had to sit, then plays, gets hurt and then well he can’t play at this level. Then his Coach and guy who brought him here (Matt) both bail and now he really doesn’t fit. He may have done us a favor by recognizing it wasn’t going to work. Hopefully he salvages something at FIU.

When my kids were small we'd take them to the Bronx zoo. There was this 20 something year old guy with a long stick poking it through the cage of some forgotten ferocious animal and taunting it. Years later, when two guys at the SF zoo hopped over the first fence and slingshot rocks mat a tiger, the tiger leapt over a 14 foot wall, tracked the perpetrators and mauled them to death. I felt bad for the tiger.

Social media is like that. Players get poked with sticks and we complain when they snap.back.

"Snap back", that's it exactly. He could have taken a more mature path and ignored the idiot, but he chose to take a cheap shot at the program. That shows a lack of maturity and class, and I get he's just a kid, but he's not really, is he?

To paraphrase Mr. Wonderful on Shark Tank; "Sedee, you're dead to me".

I wanted to be classy and say good luck even though he was a complete disaster, but after hearing him bash the program I have no guilt in saying what a complete stiff he was. Guy had the worst hands I've ever seen on a big man. I hope he excels in pumping up the thousands of FIU fans from the bench, which was the only contribution he gave to St. John's in his tenure here.

One minute virtue-signalling fighting for moral high ground, then you compare our players to animals? Sounds like that comparison comes from a dark, dark place. ;)

You should also quote what the so called fan that is hiding behind a private burner account said to him. Seedee is not wrong about SJU sucking.

People on here bash the University, the team, the Prez, previous AD's unprovoked. But when a kid says something back to a troll he's painted in a bad light. Give me a break. Some need to look in the mirror.

But he is wrong about the time frame-20 years not 30. :eek:hmy:

Not sorry to see him leave, couldn't make layups. Surely we can get someone much better.

Agree. Had a puzzling ineptness with shots taken within one or two feet of the basket. He won't be missed.
