This year's Lapchick Character Award Luncheon will be held on September 21 at the Yale Club

Honoree's include: The Solly Walker Family, Jay Wright and Muffet McGraw

Solly was one of the greatest ambassadors for St. John’s basketball. He was a true gentleman and his wife Minta was a saint. I went to his retirement celebration along with a number of other NYC Board of Education friends over 18 years ago. Our fellow redmen.com fan Brooklyn Jersey will remember coach Jim McMorrow who was there. He was teammates with Solly. Jim coached Lorenzo Charles at Brooklyn Tech.
