Not for me.K-State and Gonzaga would make fine regional champions.
I have to root for FAU. My good friend Jim Riordan was the Dean of the MBA program in Sports Management there who passed away last year much too early. Jim was also an SJU grad and had a pretty good career in sports working at the NYRA, the Spectrum and lots of other places before he became dean. He also used to work the door at the Sly Fox keeping out the neer-do-wells and collecting the $5 cover...K-State and Gonzaga would make fine regional champions.
Question for some of the old timers. Although I didn't go to St. John's I spent a fair amount of time in the early to mid 1970s hanging out at two pubs on Utopia close to St. John's, the Frontier Palace and Poor Richard's Pub. Did one of these become the Sly Fox Inn?I have to root for FAU. My good friend Jim Riordan was the Dean of the MBA program in Sports Management there who passed away last year much too early. Poor Richard's was a block west of where the Sly Fox was. I think it later became JP OD's. The Sly Fox is now a Japanese restaurant. I think the Frontier Palace was on 164th Street? Not sure about that one. Sam's was another place on Union, near 188th, it was also called Cunningham's.Question for some of the old timers.
