Congrats to @KarrSampson14 on his 7th @BigEastMBB Rookie of the Week Honor! Fourth all-time in BE history behind Melo, AI, T-Murphy. #stjbb

Yeah, yeah, I know there are some of you who don't want him to win this. What do you want him to do, dog it during the games? Besides, I don't think NBA scouts look at a player just on the number of awards he has won. That may open the door for scouts, but they are not going to bump up a player just on that.

Also, can we just give him the Conference Rookie of the Year award right now? Don't let the writers do anything stupid, like vote on the award, because that can be dangerous.

That dunk in the PC game, off the feed from CO, was Labronesque..Even PC fans were in awe of that one..

On this team, I'd love to see him get 5-6 more shots a game, mostly going to the hole strong.. I know he has that spin move in the paint but, sometimes he loses the handle in traffic.. He has, at this point in time, a decent not great jumper from the elbow..I also think he has leadership abilities but, has not asserted himself in deference to the older players. Now, we may see more of that in the remaining games. Everyone has to love his enthusiasm for the game and, he has a great smile too!

I don't think there is any doubt he's headed for the NBA, the question is only when? If he stays, like Porter on G;town, he's a likely POY in the BE next year!

It's going to be a tough decision for him at season end.

He did take 20 shots last game and I have no problem with that number I just have a little bit of a problem with where he is taking the majority of them. Go to the hole young man!

Really amazing he can't hit a 3 but from 18 in its pretty darn good.

Porter will not stay in college for 2013-4

I think the point was Porter stayed in school last year. Though his frosh season wasn't as showy as Jakarr's has been he did show the potential that made him the #34 recruit in the country (higher than Dom, Jakarr or Mo) in 2011 and could have tested the waters and certainly been drafted. But he stayed and showed not just his great talent but also his leadership on this year's team. As a frosh his team was more talented and deep so he didn't need to be the man, this year he showed he could be.

He isn't going anywhere at the end of this year...I love Karr, however he isn't close to as polished as Moe was.. He can't hit a three pointer at this point...i'm not talking consistently, I'm talking at all...he still has a lot to work on this summer and next year...If he can bring his game out a couple of more feet, then he will be NBA ready...

Yes, AI is Allen Iverson. Sorry I didn't spell it out. I was so pleased to see that tweeted that I just wrote it out pretty much as I saw it.

Jakarr as a great future ahead of him. To be a great player at the next level, he just has to gain some strength and develop a deeper outside shot as his NBA position will be at small forward or perhaps even shooting guard, one never knows. I am sure the strength part will come with maturity, the rest will come with practice. One more good collegiate year under his belt and e could be a lottery pick.
