In the below Linked podcast Jon Rothstein interviews Villanova head coach Kyle Neptune and provides his predictions about Big East upcoming season

Five is very fair. I think this team will take a little bit to get rolling. If they peak at the right time, they can do some damage in March. I won’t be surprised if they drop 2-3 in a row in January though.

This is probably the hardest team in the country to predict. Six fifth-year players (five of them new) is just wild.

I have fully talked myself into a team starting 20 years of experience (yes I am starting Alleyne and I know they have 0 years together) with Pitino at the helm... running the OOC slate... given the amount of time college players are allowed to practice/play together in the off-season- I don't foresee the stumbles some expect out of the gate...

Now... when they get to UConn / Marquette / Creighton.... different story.

I know what you mean by 20 years but Fwiw Soriano and Alleyne are the only potential starters with 4 years of D1 playing experience. Jenkins, Ledlum, and Dingle have all played 3 years D1 ball.

No matter the order of the top 5 in the BE, all will be battle tested come March Madness.

I’ve got Alleyne starting too. On top of the shooting resume, he seems like a really smart kid that will pick up the extremely complex defense faster than any of the newcomers.

Dingle can really shoot it but I wonder what playing hard defense will do to his shooting stats. He was almost nonexistent on defense at Penn.
