Looks like we are getting a lot of middle of the pack selections.

I would like, for once, be the team that out does expectations...

Johnnies have to earn it. They have disappointed far too much in recent times. I do think the pieces are there to Dance and frankly am ok w finishing in top 5 or even 6 & doing that. Better than that is gravy and no sense getting too optimistic and setting myself up for disappointment.

Ultimate successful “gravy” season to me would be making semi finals of BE T, garnering dance bid and winning a game. We’ll see in competitive BE if Mike finds right combos, holds serve at home for most part and SJ plays relatively well on the road. Staff has a challenge on their hands incorporating new pieces and figuring out minutes, rotations. Not easy, but they have been around block before.

Does anyone ever go back and review these type of preview ratings to see how teams wind up end of season?

Paultz, you are my guy but I am expecting more. Top 4 finish in Conference, Big East Tourney semi-finals, and Sweet 16. Yep, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. See y'all in March.

Appreciate all points of view, optimistic, conservative and middle of the road. In fairness CMA has overachieved 2 out of his 3 seasons here. Last year was rough with all new personnel. With a strong returning core, some freshman with high potential ceilings and good transfers I am more optimistic for this season than any in a long time. Improvement can come in a variety of ways, BE play, BE tournament and post season tournament. I am just looking for insubstantial improvement.
Looking forward to reading the reports about the DR trip next month and continues good news on the recruiting front.

Who are likely to be our reliable three point shooters? I thought Niewe (sp?) showed promise at the end of last season. Any thoughts?

That would be a nice bump from his 21% last year and 29% freshman year. He going to have more help this year, I think he'll also be playing off ball more so he can get into space better and knock down those mid range jumpers. Plus we know how fast he is so moving without the ball and slashing, I can see some unconventional 1-2 man game with Curbelo and Posh getting to the rim. The potential for excitement with these guards is really high

I would like to see Nyiwe in that group as well. I think he has the potential.

Agree that Nyiwe showed a decent stroke from three. Having said that I don't want to see him taking a lot of them, unlike the other guys mentioned. Need him to spend the majority of his time close to the basket.
