Ron Rowan's son, a Pitt recruit, is moving to FL

Two things:

He accepted a scholarship from Pitt before his sophomore year.

and

"As of now he is still verbally committed to Pitt," said Ron Rowan.

Have we ever had a father son combination?

Two cases:

1) Gerry and Tom Calabrese.

Calabrese and his dad were both captains at St. John's in New York: Gerald ("Gerry") played for Frank McGuire during the post-war years and Tom played under another coaching legend — Lou Carnesecca — in the late 1970s.

2) Andrew and Neil Levane.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Levane

Andrew Joseph "Fuzzy" Levane was a basketball player and coach. A 6'2" guard, he played collegiately at St. John's University.

Levane's son, Neil, aka Fuzzy, was a basketball star at Great Neck South high school on Long Island, New York from 1963 to 1967. Following his senior season, he was listed as a fifth-team Parade Magazine All-American. After playing for a year on the freshmen team at the University of Houston, he transferred to St. John's University in Queens where he played from 1968-70.

If he posts big numbers down there against better competition, I predict Florida and Duke will be his top two and snowy Pitt will be just a memory.
