Rodney Hood To Transfer From Miss. State

I saw him play in the coaches versus cancer tournament at the Garden last year and was very impressed by him. He has both perimeter and inside skills and is a good scorer and athlete. He would definitely be an asset to any team that could get him.

FYI he was one of eight small forwards from the 2011 class to receive a 96 scouting grade from the ESPN recruiting website. Three of those other eight were Dom Pointer, Mo Harkless and Jakarr Sampson. According to ESPN the four other schools recruiting him in 2011 besides Mississippi State were Louisville, Marquette, Florida State and Alabama.

I don't think the SEC prohibits intra-conference transferring or even neccesarily penalizes it. If so I would look for Kentucky and Cal to get involved.

Pretty sure G'town was involved in his recruitment. Their assistant coach Kirby has strong ties down in Mississippi.

They were involved with Hood. Kirby was an assistant at Mississippi State for 12 years prior to Georgetown (hence, his strong ties to the area).

Here is a tweet, per Zags....

Ricky Hood, father of Mississippi State freshman transfer Rodney Hood, told @SNYtv they are still formulating a list of potential schools
