Rob Thomas just got a new job working with the New York City Department of Homeless Services. For the past few years, Rob has been working for various non profit agencies for at risk youth and the homeless.
Watching this young man continue to grow both personally and professionally has been a blessing. He has overcome many obstacles in his young life. There were times that he could have given up, but he never did. When he destroyed his knee before he ever played a game at St Johns he could have packed it in. Rob had NBA ability and suddenly it was gone.
While he never became the player many thought he was destined to be, he stayed in school and earned his degree. Now he continues to advance in his professional life. This is a young alumnus that we can all be proud of.

Panther thank you for keeping us updated on the continued accomplishments of this wonderful young man. His tale of perseverance and success in the face of so much adversity, is what other young people should look to for inspiration.

Congratulations, Rob! Great news, panther 2, about a terrific young man with an iron will. No doubt he'll have a positive impact on the lives of everyone he reaches out to in his new position. Makes me proud to be a SJU alum.
