RJ Luis

For Niang and 2 second rounders? Well that is definitely something I wasn't expecting. But it ends up it's just a salary dump.
It must have been a plan since the Vegas Summer League. It’s a better explanation as to why RJ didn’t play at all. I was suspicious of the unexplained knee injury.
I hope RJ gets an opportunity with the Celtics, and he does have familiarity with the area from his year at UMass.

Amen my friend, let's just wish the best for RJ.
Any kid who is visibly in prayer during the national anthem is good with me. In ONE healthy season here he became Big East player of the year. Any complaints about that is like going to a 5 star restaurant and saying "What, no caviar?" Great kid, one of our best all time seasons. NCJohnny may not like this but I'd be more than okay with him putting up 25 against our Knicks*. Best of everything to him.

* So long as not in the playoffs to beat us.

Agree with everything you said Beast except change “our Knicks” to “the Lakers” lol. Actually I’m ok with it being against the Knicks so long as it is in a losing cause.

Salary dump sure, but if you look at the players that Brad Stevens has taken and way improved their stock and then traded they have lots of attributes similar to RJ Luis (and to a lesser degree Scott). I’m a biased Celtics fan but expect he’ll see some time in Boston
Let's face it. The Celtics are trying to tank, lose as many games as possible and get a high draft pick to add to Tatum's return next year.

The tankathon in Boston should lead to lot's of time for young players including RJ and Scott. Hopefully with that opportunity they will put some good play on tape that will lead to them sticking in the league.

I was probably more critical of RJ than most, at times, but wish him all the best and that he catches on in Boston or elsewhere, and lights it up. He was a good representative while here.

You think Jaylen brown and Derrick white are going to be bad enough to tank in the east? Highly doubtful

Boston can easily be a top four seed next year if Pritchard/White/Brown are healthy. Unsure if Simons will end up on the team when all is said and done, but Simons + Hauser are all good rotation pieces.

I have a lot of respect for the Celtics roster as they always seem to play above their talent level, but they'll need some teams in the East to play much below expectations for them to be safely above the play-in range, IMO

The Magic absolutely should be better than the Celtics this year. So should the Knicks, Cavs, Pistons and Hawks. Even the Sixers, which I am sure I will regret saying, should be better than the Celtics.

It is just an unbelievably tall task to compete at a high level with Tatum gone. Not only is he a fantastic player but his cap hit is unreal

I don't trust the Pistons or Embiid's health. I did forget about Orlando. There is a clear top four with BOS out of it, so "easily" was a bridge too far, but I really wouldn't be surprised. Brown can have a breakout year. Still a lot of talent on that roster. They are surely not tanking.
