RJ’s scoring plays. Our most productive and IMO most talented returner. If healthy and able to put it all together, who knows how high his ceiling could be. I think it will be interesting to see how he blends in with the 3 big transfers we’re bringing in. Not just play style (smith and Richmond have the ball in their hands a lot) but willingness and ability to sacrifice or defer at times. I think he could take a huge jump defensively if he’s able to stay healthy and practicing.

15 and 6 sounds about right, going over! Voting over on every one of these polls fwiw!
That’s the thing, I’ve tried to make them all pretty even either way IMO. Any of them could go over but doubtful they could all come up aces 😂

Hardest player to predict due to the injuries and sky-high ceiling. I'll go over 18. I think playing with a PG like Smith will really benefit his outside shooting and get him more points in transition. I'm expecting him to be north of 33% from deep.

Him and Scott combine for 25 and 10?

Blew it too I thought just points and was surprised by the results. Would change to 16-18 from my under 16 wrong vote. 12-6 or 13-5 but not much into these type predictions because it depends on how everyone else is doing.

They could go for more. Both thoroughbreds.
They for sure could, and on some nights blow it away even. But gotta draw the line somewhere. I don’t think I see both of them averaging 13+ pts. Not that that’s the only way to get to 25 between them.

As everyone well knows, there is but one ball and a finite # of shots. If they truly share the ball and play to the open man and hot hands on a given night, hopefully they will have multiple players averaging 10+ and the same a point or two under that. Me, I am more interested in defense and rebounding because those are the keys to making real noise.

You have any thoughts on Luis and Scott as a defensive pairing and on the boards?

I can see a "Closing" line-up or Smith/Kadary/RJ/Scott/Vince... might be our best defensive line-up

(this statement was made with 0 investigation into defensive metrics... hopefully the stat nerds back me up)

I prefer to evaluate players in the context of the team but since that sounds pretentious as hell, here goes;
Luis was a relatively poor defender last year, prone to go for early high risk steals but he gets the benefit of the doubt from me because I have no idea if that was more a product of him knowing he was not being able to sustain side to side sliding movement because of the shins.
Scott obviously comes with a very solid reputation from a defense oriented program but not really having seen him play I have no personal opinion. Until I see otherwise my assumption is he is a really good defender.
Luis was a good rebounder last year, a genuine nose for the ball and the desire to go get it, especially impressed with his commitment to getting late game timely rebounds. Scott also has a solid reputation there so I think that area will be a strength; again, unless I see otherwise. Seeing how he is a veteran I don’t expect either defending or rebounding will be a problem for him.
