The “delivery” was always the thing. Always felt like he was having fun playing baseball. Big old cigar hanging out of his mouth. Tough pitcher. Damn. Makes you feel old. RIP.

There is a great documentary about Tiant's first return to homeland in Cuba since he escaped when traveling with a touring baseball team. I think it is called "Return to Havana". Worth a watch.

Loved watching El Tiante pitch. Great windup, almost spun to face second on his delivery.

Great commercial for hot dogs as a Yankee. Thickly accented his line was "Everyone loves a wiener"

Tiant was just that - a winner. RIP
