RIP Ed Brown

If I recall correctly he was on same team with Tom Bayne which gave us quite a bit of size and that Ed transferred to Rhody where he did pretty well. Had good mobility for his size was like a dancing bear and probably could have made a good defensive lineman. As noted gone way too soon. RIP

Very sad to hear of his passing.

If I remember correctly, Ed Brown averaged something like 27 and 17 as a senior but Suffolk coaches didn't even vote him for all-conference teams. I remember hearing he was being punished by them for something -- laziness maybe? Always seemed like a weird situation to me so hopefully I'm completely wrong. I actually thought he moved well and thought he would be decent enough here, but never happened.

Don't think Fran liked him if I have my timeline correct.

Ed was one of Mahoney's last recruits. I believe he came in with Ty Grant and Lavor Postell.
He was a project. He was overweight. But he had great footwork, surprising agility and a soft touch around the basket.
He had a decent season at URI. I believe he might've played with Lamar Odom.

I kinda-sorta got dunked on by Ed Brown in a summer league game. I was coming in from behind on a fast break and tried to swat it from behind. I didn’t think I was dunked on but my teammates broke my balls about it.

Sad news. Young, RIP.
