Rick Pitino - Head Coach at St John’s University!!!

Final Four as a goal seems weird to me. You got that far, why not just want to win the final two games?
Personally, I don't think you should set any postseason goals beyond the Sweet 16. Anything can happen at that point, because it usually features teams that are more or less on even footing.

I know that beyond us, and a couple of the #3 seeds, that 2025 was a very chalky NCAA Tournament, but I believe that will prove to be an anomaly, more than anything.

The goal is always to be a second weekend team. Things open for you and get favorable matchups then things fall into place. UConn had that happen 3 times for them.
Get a 1-3 seed in the Tourney.... get to second weekend- agree. with the parity in College bball right now... ROund 2 can be real tough, as we saw last year with being rewarded either Kansas or Ark... who would have thought we'd be in a position hoping to face Kansas lol...

NCAAT is a crapshoot based on matchups... we should get a good barometer on how we square up with BIG teams with the 3 SEC games and the Vegas tourney. (Love the Mich exhibition!)

Things we can* control.... Back2Back BE Reg Season / BET Winners.... would love to see another Saturday NIght at the Garden... Place was a Home game...

Not that anyone should've been concerned but Trilly did not list Rick in his "retirement list" for his annual coach hot seat list.

I don't think you get to where Rick is without being extremely competitive and obsessing over goals. I believe that is 1,000 career wins and a Final Four for him. If the list below is accurate (seems to count the wins he was stripped of), he needs 115 wins (about 4 seasons for him).

Given his quotes on the NCAA not being able to strip a team -- and implicitly coach -- of what happened on the court, I don't think he will factor the losses he was stripped of.
