If we weren’t already there, we are officially in Bizarro World when it comes to the NCAA and its rules.

After Portland men’s basketball coach Eric Reveno on Wednesday morning tweeted that a WCC school committed NCAA violations pertaining to a car wash, the folks over at The Dagger did a little digging and uncovered a this head-scratcher:

A WCC school self-reported an extra benefits violation to the NCAA when university officials caught one of their women's golfers washing her car on campus, according to the source. The NCAA ruled a secondary violation had occurred because the water and hose were not available to regular students and requested the golfer pay back $20, which was deemed to be the value of the water and use of the hose.

Twenty bucks? The NCAA must be spending all of its money making sure they don’t get hit with a judgment in excess of, say … ONE BILLION DOLLARS!

The worst part about this is the NCAA is so out of touch with reality they don't even know what public water cost. $20 is an insanely high amount for the value of water (which I pay 1/2 a cent per gallon for).
