Pirate Brands sold to B&G foods of NJ for $195 million.

Really nice job. Many guys never repeat their past success, and having done it again verified that Vitaminwater success wasn't a once in a lifetime thing.

He's onto #4 now. Vitamin Water first. Then Pirate Brands. Then Energy Kitchen. And now his new venture Body Armour.

He's proof positive that academic prowess does not come close to being the only indicator of intellect and potential career success.

The ugly downside to this is all 55 Headquarter employees fired.
Not a great success for them and their families.
Maybe next time he should look out for the employees who helped
make it a success.

I understand your point, but did he bonus the employees as part of the transaction? In growing the company he did help to create jobs, and it could be argued that it is B&G foods who is laying off employees. It's understandable that on Long Island, where NYS taxes are high, where property taxes are among the highest in the nation, where utility fees for gas and electric are also among the highest in the nation, that its much cheaper to do business elsewhere - which is what the new owners are choosing to do. It's also my understanding that the company's founder is trying to start another enterprise where he will offer jobs to many of those employees.

On the other hand, where does it say anywhere that employers and employees are joined to each other? Certainly companies can work better when employers treat employees well and the employees respond with loyalty that creates a more stable and productive work force, but no one ever criticizes an employee who lives his company for a few thousand more in salary. However, if the same employee is laid off because the employer found someone as competent for a few thousand less, people are in an uproar
