QUEENS, N.Y. (Dec. 14, 2020) – The BIG EAST Conference released the remainder of the 2020-21 men’s basketball schedule on Monday afternoon.

The second portion of the schedule, which includes two separate week-long breaks for make-ups of postponed games, will begin in late December. Tip-off times and television coverage will be announced at a later date.

As of press time on Dec. 14, all St. John’s home games will be held at Carnesecca Arena without fans in attendance. Game location and fan policy is subject to change.

The Red Storm, which has four conference games scheduled prior to Christmas, will return to action on Dec. 30 when it travels to perennial BIG EAST power Villanova for a contest at The Finneran Pavilion.

After the New Year, the Johnnies will play their first game of 2021 at Carnesecca Arena when they welcome DePaul to Queens on Jan. 2. Last season, the Red Storm swept the regular season series with the Blue Demons.

The following week, the Johnnies will hit the road for a pair of contests in the western part of the conference beginning with a game at Xavier on Jan. 6 before heading to Creighton on Jan. 9.

After those Midwest meetings, St. John’s will return to Queens for two games, welcoming Butler and Marquette to Carnesecca Arena on Jan. 12 and Jan. 16, respectively.

Following an 11-day break, the Johnnies will hit the road once again for a Jan. 27 contest at DePaul before returning to Queens for games against a pair of charter BIG EAST members in Connecticut (Jan. 31) and Villanova (Feb. 3).

A trip to Providence awaits the Red Storm on Feb. 6 before the Johnnies enter their first scheduled break for make-up games. As of Monday morning, St. John’s has had two contests postponed, a pair of road matchups at UConn and Butler.

The schedule will resume on Feb. 16 with a game against Xavier at Carnesecca Arena before the Red Storm heads to Milwaukee for a showdown with Marquette on Feb. 20.

Following the second scheduled break for make-up games, the Red Storm will return to action for its final two regular season games at home against Providence (March 3) and Seton Hall (March 6).

Thanks. So unless I missed it and they already rescheduled for this month, the away game against UConn that was to be played on December 11th will be scheduled to be played during one of the two Make-up Breaks.

That has to be it, because the second Butler game is not listed, either.

Hopefully, lthis season unfolds like last season and that’s when we should be playing our best ball.

We won 5 BE games as I recall. Beat GT, no big deal, in BE T & led at half of Creighton game. The momentum theory is all we cling to it seems.

What else do we have Paultz??? Lol! I think we would have beat Creighton last year if we finished that game and we would have been playing Friday night. I think we’ll be playing Friday night this year if there’s a tournament. Always look in the bright side of life. :)

Mean Gene,

Really admire your optimism. I'm struggling to stay optimistic in the short term (this year), still optimistic long term.
