Want to laugh, here's some B.S. from Lavin's comments:
Just learning
Hardest schedule start in Big East
We're rebuilding
Xavier and Creighton have a foundation and place, a culture established
We hope to get to that point
They have sustained success, we haven't had
We have good teachers on our staff, complementing each other
Ready for this - We are in a good place
Does he know we're in last place

Rebuilding????
Good teachers on staff????
Fool us once and we are fools, try it over and over again and FU!

Actually what he says is true, and stating it shows he is in it for the long haul. Let's face he has to build the fan base. It's obvious when you get about 4000 for a
Big East game at Carnesecca arena you are not setting the world on fire. This process is taking longer but their is much more to it then just the game itself.
St. John's winning basketball culture died with Looie's resignation. They have had a few years here and there., but look at Syracuse whom St. John's was on par with at that time. Their culture is winning and sustaining winning. By the way they are 17 and 0 again for like the 3 time in the last few years. Meanwhile Fr Harrington was worrying about building houses and wearing great suits while the program burned. See it how you want bad hires, lack of funds, etc. That is why this will be a longer struggle than what it has been. Lavin is building the relationships back. If you guys don't believe that you;re wrong.

He does not need to build a fan base, he needs to win and the fan base will reappear, along with the non-SJU fans who wants to come out and watch good basketball. And with whom is he building relationships back?
