Redmen.Com Road Trip??

Just curious but are there any members on here who are planning on heading down (or up) to the South Carolina for the Charleston Classic? The tournament website (http://www.charlestonclassic.com/home/) has links for tickets, travel & hotel. You can also fill out a game ticket inquiry form where you choose the team you are rooting for, presumably so we can all be in a similar section. I say we make this an unofficial official Redmen.Com road trip and show up with the largest group of supporters ; )

I know a handful of people from the site who is gonna make the trip to Charleston (I'm one of 'em). I hope we can pack the arena with many of our fans.

It'd be great if someone can come up with a cool sports bar we can all hit for some type of pre-tournament gathering. I've never been down there so I can't recommend any good spots. I'm guessing there is no local bar down there that caters to the STJ/NYC sports scene.

Aside from MJDinkins I'll be down there with my girlfriend and I know Ted Raczok and his wife are coming and I think Moose is coming as well as well as Golden Leaf and I think JerseyShoreJohnny. There will definitely be a redmen.com party either friday or saturday night depending on our game schedule.

Looking at the website it seems that seating is general admission and each team will be selling their "sections" so there fans will be in the same area. Also the charge for 3 sessions (games) will be $60.00. If you want all 6 sessions (the doubleheaders that your team is not playing it will be $90.00 total. Also thought I read that the doubleheaders are morning and afternoon. (seems strange) There is a discount for tickets if you buy by July 31 from your school.

Gman also mentioned he'll be heading to Charleston, as well. I'm sure we'll be able to find a spot to accomodate most of us. I haven't been to Charleston in awhile, but I know people from Charleston, as well as some folks who have been there recently. So, I'll attempt to gather some ideas.

Charlestonians generally have a different accent than myself. Y'all are gonna get a load of it. Make sure y'all try the Frogmore Stew (also known as Lowcountry Boil).

Definitely considering this. I try to do one "different" road trip every year for the Rangers and Jets. I'm sure I can get one or 2 cars full of recent alums and road trip down there. This is one of those "different" trips that certainly seems feasible and like a lot of fun. Think I'm gonna start looking into this now actually.

I will be going down. With the number of fans going this might turn out to be the best road game trip.

Did anyone buy tickets yet? It seems pretty early to sell them.

I am coming down with my bro and son. Hope we get Baylor. Son will have to wear the earmuffs.
