Are we going to get involved with any kids jumping ship after this recruiting scandal?
I.e. Top-10 prospect Anfernee Simons and top-50 prospect Courtney Ramey both decommitted from Louisville on Wednesday: per Jeff Borzello

I'd think as it applies to any local kids this can only help. Programs would be insane right now to risk paying players with the investigations going on. If families aren't getting paid, and don't have offers from blue bloods, staying home and playing for 2 HOFers is a really strong sell.

'We are not very good, we no longer play at the Garden but at least we won't pay you." That does not inspire much confidence as a recruiting pitch IMO. But hey you never know.

"We aren't going to be on probation, and NO ONE is paying you, so keep your kid home and we'll open the doors to you and your family whenever you want to see your baby boy. Oh yeah and check out my Hall of Fame plaque...and Mitch's."
I'm not talking about the top 10-20 kids. But kids in the 20-100 range - NYC kids - aren't going to auburn or Stillwater or other bumblef*** places over NYC if there is no monetary incentive. I just don't see us losing all the guys we've lost without this.

I wouldn't touch any of these kids from any of these schools to be honest. You don't know which of these players will have things come out during the investigations going on. Would be a roll of the dice eligibility wise.

That's a ridiculous statement. Plain and simple.

Yeah - whys that ? You think with no monetary incentive we lose EVERY nyc kid we've lost but apparently had strong relationships with? There's no way to prove one way or the other. To say the statement is ridiculous, is absurd.

Okay, I read all as in all would stay. No, you are correct, it is likely there is at least one player who dropped STJ for a better $ offer (in an era where the ability to profer a $ offer is/was a necessary part of the recruiting toolkit). Makes me wonder if there was a budget cut after 2011. Assuming the events of the past couple of days change the landscape it'll be interesting to see how STJ fits in the new recruiting dynamic.
