@AdamZagoria: Manhattan coach Steve Masiello announced he has 2 Associate HCs in Matt Grady & Rasheen Davis

Very strange to have two Associate HCs, no?

Davis is an excellent AC in my opinion, especially in recruiting. That promotion is greatly deserved. Funny I heard rumblings he would love to be part of a high major program in NY area. Hmm. FWIW, if a vacancy opens up at SJU, I would hire him in a second. Then again, I don't do the hiring.

Maybe Maisello will take him with him to his next coaching gig...

I'm a big fan of Masiello as a coach. But this whole thing with Thomas got me thinking about the whole "I-didn't-know-I-didn't-graduate" debacle with Masiello. That was obviously a crock, of course he knew he didn't graduate. Just like I'm certain Thomas knew he didn't have the grades/courses to get into SJU. Bottom line: I'm not so sure Masiello should be rewarded with the HC job at SJU. And believe me, it pains me to say that.

Just to be clear, my post was solely about Rasheen Davis, not Masiello.

Understood. I was responding to Desco's post.

Thanks. I just did not want to start the Masiello to SJU discussion again. (admittedly something I engaged in last year.) :)

I'm not sure is Mas was lying, but I didn't think his explanation was all that far-fetched if I am recalling it correctly. He left school immediately for his first job, and never thought about it again.

Nah...it's far fetched. You know whether or not you graduated. It's no small thing.
Agree to large extent but why than wouldn't he have done the little that was still required of him when it made the difference of having a degree or not having a degree?
