My wife and I hosted a BBQ for young men and women (plus their parents) who are starting St. John's later this month.
Along with several folks from SJU we had a total of 25 at our home this Saturday afternoon. The day was great fun.
It's the first time we hosted the event and would encourage others to consider doing the same next year at their homes.
I know we will do it again next summer.
That said, one of great friends from SJU noticed that there were several Villanova, and ND flags flying from the flag poles on several of my neighbor's lawn's. There are also quite a few BC and Fordham flags in the area.
I don't think it's the worst idea in the world for all of us to show our pride in being part of the St. John's/Redmen.Com family (doesn't matter if you graduated from the university) by doing the same.
Doesn't cost a lot of money and would let your neighbors and friends know you take pride and ownership in being an important part of the St. John's community.
