RIP. His potrayal of Sonny was a classic. Always wished he could have lasted a little longer in the Godfather film(s).

Knew him growing up in Sunnyside Queens. He shocked everybody ,I think even himself by becoming such a good actor. He was a natural.

Just saw him doing a TV interview with Talia Shire on the Godfather's 50th anniversary.
He was a step slow, but otherwise looked pretty good.
RIP to a great.

His beating of brother in law Carlo with garbage can was just one slice of GF, but a NYC street scene moment for sure.

I remember watching Godfather 2 for the first time and suddenly he appears at the very end in the flashback.
What a scene and a completely brilliant move by Coppola.

What a loss. I just finished watching 'The Offer' on Paramount+. For any Godfather fans out there, I highly recommend.

And James Caan was great in one of my favorite Christmas movies, Elf, as Buddy's biological father and awful children's book publishing executive, Walter Hobbs.
