For Lavin to make that statement about recruiting he must have a few recruits up his sleeve. He obviously knows something that we do not. How else could he possibly justify making a statement like that about next year with only one recruit signed?

Hope he does, but it has been a Lavin tactic to project confidence about recruiting regardless of what the actual state of recruiting is. Wouldn't expect a coach to do any different - certainly not helpful to be outwardly negative about recruiting - just don't know that it reflects what his ultimate recruiting results will be.
Actually think Lavin generally tends to be more positive/wishful when things are not going well, and more realistic/critical when things are. Last year in particular, it became tiresome listening to justifications for on-court performance and predictions for future improvement. This year, he's seemed more measured in evaluating the team's play, despite the great play and ripping off an 11-1 start.

Agreed SJU 1512, that is how Lavin handles things. It just seemed like more than just trying to project confidence when he says, "It's the least of his worries .." That sounds very adamant to me. I definitely agree with your assessment of Lavin and how he handles things though. You're spot on.
I love the way he carries himself, but when is the last time he answered a question in under 25 words?
Hahaha Paul! I noticed that as well and was wondering if he didn't mention Yukonn on purpose or if he just happened to forget to mention them. Now that he's said the same teams twice without mentioning them, I don't think it's just a coincidence.

it was even better after listening to Marshal babble on about how great Lavin was and then Lavin disses him
Kind of glad Lav was not responsible for staffing space shuttle this year.I can't wait for Lav to play the victim card about having a short bench after the Jordan leave of absence. Doesn't quite match, "Recruiting is the least of my concerns because that's an area we've excelled." How does this freshman class add up to excelling?
