I know everyone wanted a 20 win season and everything, and anything less would be a dissappointment to some, but we now have matched last season's win total at 13, and we aren't in Febuary yet. I know we doubled our team and have more experience but many people thought our season was in the toilet after the GTOWN game. (See "What a Mess" thread). SO it is nice to see we can surpass our win total from last year on Wednesday night and have a 5 game winning streak going into the biggest game of the season IMO @ GTOWN

Very good points. Progress marches on...

20 wins is still very possible

Yeah, we would all do well to listen to the old advice "Don't get too high after a win, or low after a loss". The home losses to Rutgers and the Hoyas were hard to take, for different reasons.

I expect us to win on Weds vs DeP. If we can sneak one of the following four (Hoyas, Huskies, Orange, Cardinals), that would be something. The remaining stretch does not look too intimidating (ND and Marquette aside): maybe 3 wins out of 5? That gives us 10 wins in the BE by going 5-5 in last ten games (18 wins overall). A run in the BE Tourney and who knows?

Although the oppostion in the last three games has not been great, you can only beat what is in front of you and we have been playing better as a unit and executing on the small things. We have athleticism and desire which helps overcome some other deficiencies. The turnaround since the Hoya game has been very pleasing. I just hope we are practising our free-throws late into the evening...

BTW, I went to the TCU / Baylor game on Sat and we should not be too upset by our loss to Baylor. They are a solid team, although at the Frogs held our friend Heslip to two 3's (you know, the guy that torched us for eight 3's). That is another thing we are doing better: getting a hand in the face of the hot outside shooter.

I agree, that four game stretch we have coming up where everybody only wants us to win one, Syracuse is the only team I feel like is a sure loss. Louisville has major problems right now, UCONN at the garden, I think we can win that, and GTOWN listen we all know what happened against GTOWN but I feel we have gotten better, We got revenge at Rutgers and doing it AT GTOWN is much harder but the way this team plays we have a shot. I know I am maybe looking ahead a little too much and in reality we should just focus on Depaul right now. But a point I made to someone earlier, we haven't lost since the GTOWN game. But the main thing to talk about and this was something that I wanted to see more than anything else, this team is a joy to watch, the same can't be said 3 weeks ago.

I'm not expert bracketologist, but I think they need to get to 19 wins to lock in a Tournament bid. That includes at least 1 win in the BE Tournament and at least one marquee win (what they are sorely missing right now). I think 20 wins makes it a no brainer.

18 wins and we put our fate in the hands of the Committee and no one wants to be in that positoin on Selection Sunday.
