Prayers For A Member of the SJU Family

NYCRedmen

Well-known member
I just learned today that one of my longtime St. John’s basketball buddies is starting treatment today for a life threatening illness. Out of respect for his privacy I won’t share his name or information (he’s not a Redmen member but does check out the site). Before I started photographing St. John’s games I had season tickets with him for many years (going back to the Jarvis years) and we made every home game and would hit occasional road games as well. He’s a proud St. John’s alum and supporter of the university athletics program. I’m asking that you please keep him and his family in your prayers. He’s only 41 and needs all of your positive thoughts and prayers.

My thoughts and prayers are with your friend and his family.
Events like this bring things into sharp focus, don't they?
Thanks for posting.

Thank you NYCRedmen. In addition to being a huge St. John's fan, he's a wonderful human being. Let's please muster up all the prayers possible for his speedy and full recovery.

Praying for your friends speedy and full recovery.

Thanks NYCRedman
Thank you for letting us know.
You clearly have a fine caring relationship with your friend - not an easy time but you are there for him...and as indicated by the ‘ thank yous ‘ we posters are there for both of you.
Nice to see the caring SJU community that we are.
Blessings.

He's a salt of the earth great guy. Best wishes for him and his family. If anyone will beat this it's him

I am sorry to hear that. My thoughts and prayers are with him.

I have met many good people from going to our games. It is what keeps most of us together during the lean years.
When things like this strike one of us it puts the game and the petty stuff in perspective. Prayers and positive thoughts for a great guy who will get through this.
Will include him in my prayers . recently Joe Russo former baseball coach at SJU passed away .
Didn't know that Joe passed away, sorry about that. He was a real nice guy.

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update on my buddy (I should say our buddy). He is still in he hospital and well into his chemo treatment. Overall he is in good spirits and staying positive. Several members from the SJU community have reached out to him including people from athletics and alumni relations. Today he received a call from Coach Anderson. Talk about an incredibly classy move. It really made his day.
