Practice Changes / Shot Clock

If they think that reducing the shot clock will increase offense, I think they are sadly mistaken. I think the opposite would take effect.

I'm for a shot clock, but it should go back to 45 seconds. Not as many rushed possessions, IMO.

Three point shot has also hurt scoring, because teams settle for that, but you need that, because you have a chance down 3 points late in a game.

To me, the biggest need for a rule change is to eliminate the "phantom time out" that teams get when a player fouls out of the game
It has given teams out of time outs an extra "freebie" at the end of the game which can affect the outcome
All of the players should be required to remain on the court and the coach should have to make an immediate substitution

With all due respect, I disagree completely. A 45 second shot-clock would be absolutely detrimental to the game. The 35 second shot-clock has nothing to do with rushed possessions.

I think 30 seconds would be great. Just my opinion.

45 seconds would make it borderline unwatchable. I think it should be 30 or less. It will force teams to stop walking the ball up the court and get into the offense earlier. The shorter the shot clock the better it is for STJ :) We should be hoping for a 15 second shot clock.

In theory yes, that is what lavin preaches and what the team looks like on paper. But at times these last two years it has looked like we wished there was no shot clock at all. Im always in favor of giving up a good shot to get a great shot but at that same token I hope we are able to stay in attack mode for the full 40 minutes.

.
Should be 24 Calipari said what he has done has not be done before recruiting so many young players and trying to get them. to jell Didn't Lav have a similar situation Feel sorry for.him with 4 of the top Freshmen in .country Give me a break

teams walk the ball up and dribble at halfcourt running down the clock too much as it is. Shorten the shot clock. Also, stop granting timeouts when fighting for a loose ball, that's become a joke. Stop rewarding flops, it's ruining the game

I liked 45 seconds. Gives teams with a lot less talent a better chance for the upset.
Because we all like to watch less talented players. Even the women have a 30 second shot clock. You must also like to watch paint dry and grass grow. What are you like 100 years old? Not that there is anything wrong with that. :)
