(POST-GAME) @Villanova, Tues., Jan. 8, 7p, FS-1 / 970 AM

Definitely hurts because we had it well within our reach. No shame in a road loss to nova. Agree with those who think we could have worked the bench more. Ponds and crew look tired towards the end.

Hope LJ is fine and get ready to defend home court.

Oh well. Similar to seton hall game. At least I covered first half spread and money line and game spread. But man. Their poor foul shooter made his free throws. Give him credit.

Ponds played 39 minutes, Simon 38, Figgy 34, Clark 33 and Heron 24.

Keita played 5, Williams 0 and Trimble 27.

39 min for Ponds too much. No reason not to rest when we were up 8+ at times.

3 happy and sloppy inside.

Moving on.

HOW MANY POINTS DID WE HAVE AFTER A TIMEOUT? I BELIEVE ZERO! AWFUL.

WHO IS THE HEAD COACH MULLIN OR ST JEAN. IT SEEMS LIKE ST JEAN DOES MORE TALKING AND DRAWING UP OF PLAYS THAN MULLIN DURING STOPPAGES.

Our team was gassed. Injury or questionable coaching decisions?

We will win the the next 5 and when we play nova again at home we will beat them. We will get to 19-2. Ponds needed to rest. Heron needs to show up for 14pts and we win.

We seemed to figure something out with the rotation against Georgetown and we completely abandoned it

It has been that way for four years.

This one hurts, but a loss on Sat against DePaul will hurt more. Time to regroup.
We need Simon to take more threes and play a bigger role handling the ball.
HaHa! Have to agree he gets so out of control beyond capabilities and seldom thinks situationally. Frustrating.

Now about your SJU “rout” prediction :)

Played them tough but agree gave up too many rebounds especially the one on the missed free throw and then the one at the end of game. Needed to use the bench more Wright did a better job of keeping g his guys fresh.

This says it all. Shamorie looked completely exhausted at the end of the game. We can’t be expected to close games playing 6 players. Could Keita really not get more then 5 minutes today? Would Williams have brought our level down so much they would blow our doors off while he’s on the court? The guys played well, but I know with 6-7 mins left we were losing bc everyone was starting to look tired and stopped moving.

HIGH HOW WAS YOUR DAY?

Hate blaming the officials but in our two losses can't help but feel we've gotten a bad whistle. With that said, didn't execute down the stretch tonight and lost to a team that we should've beat.
