(POST-GAME) Butler, Tues., Jan. 12, 7p, FS-1 / 570 AM WMCA

When you are climbing out of the Grand Canyon every win is a much needed win. Smile and on to next game

I hope nobody listened to Cousin Sal, and the other two guys on the gambling show (which aired just prior to the game), when they said that Butler +1.5 was an easy cover.  I kind of had a good feeling about this one right after I heard them say that.

I'll take it. I thought Roberts played well,Cole too. Not big scoring games but did a lot of little things that add up. Good for the kids to get a W. Break the funk

Moore , while somewhat out of control offensively at times, was improving every game in my opinion. If he plays tonight I don't think the game gets close again after we pulled away at the half

Better defense tonight...disruptive
Posh had some bad shot selections but he is a freshman and will grow
Dunn has to guard the other team's scorer
Roberts played well...not sure why Toro has gotten more time
That 2nd half lineup was in too long...ugh
CMA was smart to limit Earlingtons time. He gets too comfortable with the perimeter shots...can turn momentum other way
Champagnie was Champagnie
Dunn was good from FT line last year...struggling this year

Glad to see us shake off that long holiday layoff and the DePaul cancellation that clearly took an enormous toll on the team.
Now is the time to grind.
Now is the time to march ahead.

Agree with most, but I hope Posh does not become Dunn in the future in terms of shot selection. So far he's trending that way.

Thought one of the keys to the game was having Thompson sit out most of first half in foul trouble.

Butler didn't get to the foul line in first half.

Fortunately Butler didn't feed Bolden in the second half. Shoots the eyes out of three point shots, something like 43%.

Hard to believe it but Cole hit the boards for 6 rebounds, leading the team. Way to go Vince. Let the game come to him tonight.

Roberts played a quiet but efficient game.  Toro should be our third center, definitely not a starter.

Moore was a liability against Creighton and has been really bad defensively.

Good thing is we got the win.  Bad thing is that we need to massively overachieve and improve about 3-fold to stay out of the bottom few.  I don't see it happening.  Mike Anderson will have to prove us wrong and I hope he does so.
