I was listening to Jay Williams and Seth Greenberg doing halftime of Okla- Kansas game . Young had 4 points through the first half . I didn’t watch the rest of the game but, was struck by the comments passed by Williams and Greenberg . Williams must not watch many BE Games because he was saying Young was this , Young was that and now , teams were double teaming or putting big defenders on him and his production had fallen . Young vocalized how he was being targeted . Greenberg thought he was whining and said so . Neither mentioned Ponds and how some very good teams have tried to defend him and have essentially failed . But, ESPN is a ACC , Big 12 Network . From what I see, I would take Ponds 6 out of 7 Days over Young but, I admit my bias .

Well if you go on the other board Marillac and Mase jr would probably agree with you. Unfortunately 30 NBA teams strongly disagree with you.

Uh, I think you mean: "Fortunately, 30 NBA teams disagree with you..."

Don't get me wrong. I hope Shamorie has a stellar and lucrative NBA career...two years from now.

I think we can all agree with Firestorm when he says I hope Ponds gets his 100 million dollar contract after April 10, 2020 :D!

What do you think the reasons are he is not listed in the first round in ANY mock drafts?
1. Size / Strength-Big guards are all the rage
2. Is he a point?-I believe he can be a scoring point of the bench in the NBA.
3. Jump shot- Has nice touch. Off the bounce for whatever reason his shot is cleaner. With his feet set he actually shoots kind of a push shot. And even though it has been better, teams are so scared of him driving the ball they give him the three. For him to be a factor in the Pros he def has to clean up his outside shot.
4. Defense-Bigger guards in Pros he will have a problem. Also during 11 game losing streak he was as guilty as anyone of not closing out on shooters and fighting through screens.

Now none of that outside defense thing has anything to do with him here. He is a fantastic player and I really enjoy watching him. We are just talking about how his game translates at next level.

You made a joke, I made a joke. Anyway I thought this was about ponds vs trae Young. Not his nba potential.

For the record I can’t say whether or not I think ponds is better than trae young. Havnt seen enough of him and it seems like he has full reign to take any shot he wants. Was ridiculously hot in beginning of year but has cooled down significantly. Still, his stats are unreal. And if your gonna just take stats then is he the best collegiate guard ever?

I will say that I think jaylen Brunson is the best guard in the country and both times he and ponds matched up ponds got the better of him.

So is Ponds better than young? Idk. Would I take Ponds in a head to head match up? Yea I would.

Early in the year Young looked like Steph Curry. Young has played really badly lately but he is still going to go in the top 10. If Ponds leaves he is going in 2nd round.
Young in NBA could go either way. He is either going to be great or he is going to be Trey Burke. No middle ground there.
I think Ponds can get into the NBA but I think his upside would be Lou Williams, Jamal Crawford type and downside would be he never makes a team.
As far as in college Young is better but not by a lot.
If I had to buy stock on who will have more impact in the NBA one day Brunson or Ponds I would go heavy on Ponds.
