A thrilling, captivating listen for anyone who wants to get into the weeds and understand the concise, segmented precision by which our HOF coach is going to instruct our program on a daily basis. From individual instruction to team drills, in game situations, shooting clinics, philosophy, you name it, this in depth analysis is a snapshot of how meticulous and strategic Pitino is. His self-recognition of learning from his own experiences, reflecting and improving from it by which yielding it into his own teaching is unprecedented. I highly recommend taking out some time, rolling up your sleeves and appreciating who is now at the helm:

Great podcast. It’s a great listen so to all of you guys worried about him fielding a team you should listen and maybe you won’t be so negative. Pitino takes players he can win with. That’s the bottom line. I’m sure with the portal and whatever 23 recruits are left he will find his players to succeed this year and for us to root for.

Maybe. But I'd love to see some results regarding our roster. Is he just keeping things quiet, not showing his hand? Or are we in the position of settling for players....again? That hasn't worked the last 20 years. I was hoping RP could come in and get from the top of the list. There hasn't been an abundance of time for him. But no movement is not what I was expecting at this point.

Believe me. I understand the want for immediate roster etc. I get antsy also. But seems many are too impatient and make judgements way too early because it’s not at their schedule of getting guys. I’m taking the let’s see the roster fully before we can assess how the hall of faker did. Lol.

Oh man if you are calling him a hall of faker on a sunday morning I cant wait to see after a few drinks wednesday at Novita the games that will be thrown at Coach and us :)

Good find! I found 33:55-34:15 particularly insightful.

For me the most interesting quote came at 6:37: "Coaches take jobs that they can't win at."

He essentially said that this happens because a coach takes a job where they can not recruit players to come to their program at a top three level against their conference competition.

Hopefully this will not be true here!

As Coach Carnesecca said at Pitino's hiring, "Get players!"

I suppose this is why there is so much passion and debate here about the reconstruction of our team as we look to bring in players to fill up our roster.

Definitely taking the let's see approach myself. Would just like to hear something positive . Iona and VMI commits. Please. Last I checked we're in B.E. That caliber will place us deeper in the bottom.

THIS PODCAST (THE TOPIC) was a great listen. I’m more confident that we will dance in March, 2024.

Often times , many people don’t realize there may be a fine line between a Mid Major standout and his counterpart at a alleged BIG SCHOOL .

And , its quite common for some of these top rated kids to not be able to take it to the next level .

Take Gaffney at Florida Atlantic this year . Coming out of HS he was a highly rated player that went to UCOnn and never achieved the level of performance to make him a starter . Hurley recruited over him several times and he transfers to FAU . Where he was still off the bench player

I’m not picking on Gaffney just using him as a example of how ratings sometimes aren’t the predictor of stardom .

Conversely , a fair number of players coming from Mid Majors can make a impact at a high D 1 school . Nydefo going to SH from St. Peter’s is one that comes to mind .
