Player improvement/development under Pitino

Rick Pitino is known for his player development/improvement. Its something he sells to recruits. Everyday he takes groups of 4 players and works on skills.

Outside of Daniss Jenkins, who on this team has improved over the course of this year?

Soriano - No, has actually gotten worse
Dingle - No
Allenyne - a wash
Brady - No, couldnt even get on the floor today
Taylor - No, has actually gotten worse
Wilcher - No, couldnt even get on the floor today
Ledlum - a wash
Conway - No
Luis - No
Zuby - Maybe

I think this is the most surprising part of the season. I thought most of the players would improve tremendously under Pitino. But the majority havent and some have gotten worse.

How do you explain this?

I think a big product of this is that for a lot of these guys, this is their last stop on the CBB train. When you’ve been playing in college for 4-5 years, You kinda are who you are at that point, with some occasional Sir Dom like exceptions.

I would’ve loved to see more Sim and Brady development throughout the year though, it’s still so weird what happened with Brady. He seemed like he was gonna be a guy for us for about a week. Then faded fast

Isn't there a similar thread on here already?

Some of y'all are worse than a jilted school girl.

Sorianos season changed when he started getting doubled. He hasn’t recovered since. I don’t know why
Yep. He had improved…analysts talked a lot about him being patient and the angles he created to score…and then he seemed to go away from that. As you note, possibly because the “hamster wheel” sped up once the double and triple teams came

Jenkins has shown improvement because he had prior experience with Pitino and knew what was coming this season. The only other player to show decent iprovement is Zuby because he considers defense more important than offense like Pitino and is willing to work that way.
It seems the rest of the roster prefers offense to defense and Pitino can’t get his strategies through to them.
