Pittsburgh vs Syracuse

So, I'm watching the 2 traitor schools playing right now. A few random thoughts:
1) it really stinks that these 2 greedy institutions bolted from the Big East. This should be a BE game.
2) what a pleasure watching teams that actually play good fundamental ball! Players box out under the boards. They rotate and move their feet on defense. On offense, there are actual plays run. Zones are attacked with proper spacing, penetration and passing. Screens are set, and on and on.
3) although he is a whiner, there was a play earlier that shows one of the differences in coaching. Patterson has been lighting up the zone. Cooney did not get out on him in the zone. Boeheim called a time out and ripped into him. In other words, there is some degree of accountability for mistakes.

Just some random thoughts.

This kid Ennis is a top guard for a freshman. Pitt had the lead and 3 times in ;the last 3 minutes came down and did not score. Syracuse really stepped up the defense and Ennis took over. The kid scored the last 6 points going to his right off the glass and then next time to his left off the glass and then 2 pressure free throws. CJ Fair did not touch it. Amazing. Christmas with 2 garbage time free throws when the game was over. Announcers kept stating how it felt like a great Big East matchup. Everyone knows the score regarding the conference realignments that has throw everything out of kilter.
Good to see the old Big East teams killing it in the ACC. Nice to know coach K got what he wanted and maybe he won;t like it.

Coach K had no desire to see the ACC expand. He spouted the company line because he had no choice. Similarly, Boeheim did not want to leave the Big East. He said as much initially. Then he had to fall in line and say what his school's administration wanted him to say.

Really?
Rat face was the only ACC coach to push the rape of the Big East publicly on many occasions. Some think he was the prime mover on the ACC side.

He's the most visible coach in the ACC, so I guess that put him out front. He ruled the roost in the ACC, was top 5 ranked just about every year and made a run toward a championship. Why would he want to upset that formula?

Because the devoutly Catholic rat has a dark side. The ACC rape was all about basketball unlike what all the other power conferences were doing to grow their football side of the business. He, more than any coach in the ACC resented the status of the BIG EAST as the premier basketball conference. The ACC was on a respirator in basketball and he worked with the ACC to engineer the offers to Pitt and Syracuse. Once that offer was accepted the rest of the Big East basketball schools grovelled to join them.
Ergo, here we are today.

You do realize there have probably been more "Fire Dixon" threads on the Pitt board(s), than "Fire Jarvis/Norm/Lavin" here.

The way we can even is to have great recruiting classes and go to the finial 4

Ding! DIng! DIng! Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner! Spot on, 72. Because of that, I will always despise Puke and Coach Ratface. I hope Syracuse and Pitt dominate that league now.

Yea, sure. But there are also nuts down south who are questioning Nick Saban after a 2 loss season. Crazy can't be cured.
But I would give a kidney for the type of success Dixon has had. 10 years - 9 NCAA appearances. The Big East titles, the conf tournament title. Has he under-performed in the post season? Sure. But I think physical Big East teams are always prone to under-performing when they get to the NCAAs and see different officiating.

@jeffborzello: RT @DonnaDitota1: Syracuse's Dajuan Coleman will miss the rest of the season after needing surgery to repair a leg injury.

the only bad part about the cuse pitt game was that only one team could lose
