Evidently even though a player graduates and the NCAA allows for that player to be able to transfer and play immediately, while his former school cannot prevent him from transferring, it can prevent him from being eligible right away.

While I understand Pitt not wanting him to go to a team within their conference, I don't agree with this move.

No worries. Its North Carolina! Lord Roy Williams will make sure the player is eligible next season. Needs to make sure that they win before the NCAA rules on that little academic scandal from a few years ago. Oh that's right, there is nothing to see there. Carry on.

This kid's letter is a damn fire bomb to the NCAA:

"During my last season at Pitt, Coach Dixon left to become the head coach at TCU, Coach Stallings left Vanderbilt to come to Pitt, we had one director of athletics leave and another (Heather Lyke) come to Pitt, and just in the last week the associate AD at Pitt who presented the case against me in my hearing has left to join another school.

All five of these individuals left their jobs under contract and all had the freedom to move as they pleased. As a student-athlete, who is not a paid employee of the school, and a graduate, shouldn’t I be granted the same freedom of movement?"

And just like that, the kid is eligible to play this upcoming season......not that I disagree, but I just love how UNC always seems to have everything fall their way.....

I completely agree with the kid but overall I think it a sheit move on all parts to transfer/accept a transfer into a conference opponent.

Abracadabra... :side: UNC and Lord Roy got there way. Shocking, I say! Any word on the academic fraud scandal? Of course not...

By the way, I feel like many that the kid should not suffer a penalty. However, I do think in conference doesn't sound fair.
