Pitino To Call It a Career in 2017

When Ricky retires, they should have a Dinner for him at that lovely Italian restaurant in Louisville where the owner let Ricky have an extra set of keys so he could have some post-Dinner fun!

Shocked he said anything, since it'll hurt recruiting as you get within two years of that date.

Despite any of the misgivings, this Long Island St. Domnic's kid will go down as one of the greatest coaches in history, with success in college and the NBA.

It's still astonishing to consider the number of NYC area guys who have made thier mark coaching basketball. Pitino is one of them, and as much as he'd have a hard time admitting it, one of us.

RP has never had very fond things to say about us, as far as I remember. His connections go from Long Island perhaps, but up through UMass, to Syracuse, and stops along the way, to the Knicks, Celtics, and of course those two bastions of higher education in the land of the possum-eaters, and one nice dish on the table of an Italian restaurant in Looie-ville, KY.
